Mankind always wants to travel in space and to explore the universe. Different companies are planning to send crewed vehicles to the Moon and Mars after successful landing experiments of robot vehicles. NASA and its collaborators are trying to go further into the solar system in order to meet the space exploration objectives and to establish a permanent settlement on the Moon, which will produce new opportunities for development while also preparing mankind for future exploration of Mars.

Remote Space Travel to Mars

Remote exploration of Mars has been performed successfully via probes. In the last two decades, different probes dispatched from Earth have brought a significant increase in information about the Mars planet, focusing particularly on studying its geological conditions, and livability prospects. Space travels between planets are difficult to engineer because the exploration of Mars has faced a high failure rate, particularly in the early efforts. Approximately 60% of all spacecraft aimed for Mars could not complete their missions, while several collapsed before they could begin their observation. However, some missions have had incredible success, for example, the Opportunity, Spirit, and the twin Mars Exploration Rovers, which have been operational for years longer than predicted.

SpaceX Mars Mission

SpaceX space company is working on a spacecraft called Starship that will transport passengers and goods to Mars, and other far-flung locations. The whole system comprises of two components: The Ultra Large lower-stage booster and the Starship which is upper-stage.

The Starship spacecraft stands roughly 390 feet tall when completely assembled. In past, NASA had this record whose Saturn V rocket has a height of 363 feet which is approximately 111m. According to Musk, the thrust power of the vehicle will be more than double of the Saturn V. Both the Ultra Big booster and the Starship are built to be fully and quickly reusable, a cost-cutting innovation that SpaceX thinks will refashion space travel and explorations. SpaceX’s latest Raptor engine powers the Ultra Large booster and Starship. Raptor was built with Mars in consideration; the engine runs on liquid oxygen and liquid methane, both of which may be found on the Red Planet.

However, if all proceeds according to schedule, The Starship will travel to the moon before reaching Mars. In 2018, SpaceX revealed that Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese businessman, had reserved a ticket-the-moon journey on Starship, which might fly as early as next year.
