Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on June 28, 1971. He is an American billionaire businessman who is the founder of SpaceX and established PayPal. SpaceX is a firm that builds and launches electric motors as well as spaceships. He was the most important shareholder, investor, and the chief executive of Tesla, which is an electrical automobile company. His father belonged to South African and his mother was from Canada.

Education

Elon Musk showed an early interest in computers and business. He formed a video game when he was only 12, then, sold and presented it to a computer publication. Musk started his education at Queen’s University of Kingston, Ontario, then joined The University of Pennsylvania of Philadelphia (1992) and did a bachelor’s in economics and physics in 1997. He took admission to Stanford University (of California) and started studying physics, but he trusted that the Internet had more power and potential to transform society therefore he left his studies.

Projects

Musk then established X.com, which later became PayPal, an online specialized firm that helps in online money transfers. PayPal was purchased for 1.5 billion Dollars in 2002 by the online marketplace eBay.

TESLA

Initially, Elon Musk gave 70 million dollars in financing. He, then, joined engineers Marc Tarpenning as well as Martin Eberhard and joined Tesla Motors as a manager in 2004. There, he was involved in the production of an electric automobile (Tesla Roadster). He became a CEO when Eberhard was fired from the firm in 2007 because of some conflicts. Elon Musk supervises the product design, and worldwide manufacturing for Tesla’s electric automobiles, solar energy products, and battery goods as a CEO. Tesla has grown to be one of the very popular and amazing vehicle brands in the world under his leadership.

This clean-energy services firm, which was founded in 2006, now develops two rechargeable solar batteries that are primarily used for stable energy storage. He was not satisfied with the cost of the highest speed railway system in California which was 68 million dollars. He gave an alternative idea of a faster system on a very low budget of 6 million dollars and named it the hyperloop. Passengers could travel 560 kilometers (360 miles) from Los Angeles to San Francisco within 35 minutes, at a maximum rate of 1,220 kilometers per hour (760 miles), which is almost equal to the speed of sound.

SpaceX

Elon Musk founded Space Exploration Technologies Corp. as SpaceX, in May 2002. Till now, he remains CEO of the company and also holds the authority of Chief Engineer.

SpaceX attempted their first launch of the Falcon 1 rocket in 2006 but the rocket failed to reach Earth orbit. After two more unsuccessful attempts, SpaceX became successful in launching the Falcon 1 into orbit in 2008. In 2018, SpaceX announced a planned 2023 lunar mission. In 2020, SpaceX launched its first crewed flight, becoming the first private company to place a person into orbit.
